Our Tamarind bag is handwoven using tenganan ata grass (ketak) and is structured in its shape. The bag features a fine leather handle in a natural tan colour.
Tenganan is an area in Bali known for producing this style of weave, which produces beautifully structured pieces. The traditional weaving process is very unique and requres much patience.
Once our bags are woven, they are smoked over coconut husks for 24 to 48 hours as part of the drying process, which also creates the bags colouring.
All our bags are handmade and no two bags are identical
All orders come with a Shop Sumba cotton drawstring bag. We love using this to put our knickers and bathers in for weekends away, or keep your bag in it for extra love when you're not using it
